As beloved as Oprah is, there is also a stigma attached to her admirers. Take away the "favorite things" giveaway episodes or the celebrity interviews and focus on her desire to encourage her audiences to do better. That is benevolence.
Below is a clip that showed itself to me and although the intent is to address romantic relationships; for me right now, today, I utilized it as a reminder to respond to friendships in the same way.
Iyanla Vanzant is a woman who Oprah had invited to her stage many times over and with humor, wit, and wisdom, she has sparked ideas of clarity to women who seeking just that. She tells us that we often look for good feelings only, rather than reality; and when we think we need to fix someone we are out of our minds and we need to return.
