Miss Representation is a documentary film which premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival. The film takes a look at how culture and media influences women and young women to invest in their youth, beauty and sexuality more than any other aspect of their person.
A revisited topic yes, but being that this is an on going problem, we need on going discussions.
Writer/Director Jennifer Siebel Newsom presents stories and interviews with teenage girls and public figures such as Dr. Condoleezza Rice, Lisa Ling, Nancy Pelosi, Katie Couric, Rachel Maddow, Rosario Dawson, Dr. Jackson Katz, Dr. Jean Kilbourne, and Gloria Steinem.
