On May 17th, Newt Gingrich was signing books with his wife before their appearance at a fund raising dinner for the Minneapolis Family Council. The Minneapolis Family Council is a conservative group that has gone against same sex marriage.
In protest a gay rights protestor poured a box of gold glitter over Gingrich's head. As this occurred the protestor said, "Feel the rainbow, Newt." The protestor went on to say "Stop the hate. Stop anti-gay politics. It's dividing our country, and it's not fixing our economy."
