For the first time an openly LGBTQ dance group is performing on MTV's America's Best Dance Crew. The crew consists of for male gay members and one transexual woman.
Much attention has been given to Leiomy Maldonado who is making the transition from man to woman. "I'm basically here on ABDC (America's Best Dance Crew) to showcase my talent and to give strength to all trans people out there and to show the world that any- and everyone is talented, whether they're straight, gay, lesbian, bi, or trans, and they should never let anyone keep them from fulfilling their dreams" says Maldonado.
Maldonado can do more than dance. She is also Sean "Diddy" Combs on his reality show Making His Band.
It is great to see that tv is becoming more open to not just gay men and women but to transgender men and women.
