Tweaking "Don't Ask, Don't Tell"

U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates states that he is searching for ways to make the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy "more humane." The "more humane" treatment will allow gay individuals to remain if the military if they have been outed by another party.

In my view this isn't enough. But perhaps this is Pentagon's way of slowly fading the policy out altogether. I say this as President Obama has said that he wants to get rid of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."

Obama however, has been criticized by some for not moving fast enough to repeal it. I say that it has only been 5 months that Obama has been in office and he has a lot on his plate. Sure, we would like all matters to be taken care of swiftly but I do not think it is always possible.
